FaceTime Not working on iPod Touch?

Here are some fixes:

1. Make sure you're using an Apple ID that's an email address (older IDs only use a username).
2. If it's an internet problem, change your DNS (Settings>Wi-Fi>"Your Network") to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
3. Make sure your iPod's time is correct.

  1. None of these are working for me. I got my ipod touch 4g a few months ago, have facetimed for hours with no problems, until a couple weeks ago. All of a sudden everytime I'd facetime my wifi would drop the connection and not only on the ipod but also my computer. I'd have to go and reset the router. It only does then when I try to use facetime. It will connect and after 5-10 minutes it stops working. Occasionally it has worked for longer. Now more recently in the last few days, my ipod will not connect with my boyfriends facetime at all. He has tried on his mac and ipod. Nothing we try fixes the problem. He changed locations in the last week from Ontario, Canada to the UK, but like I said the problems with it dropping the connection were before this. If anyone has any solutions please help! We miss each other :(

  2. Anonymous,

It might work if you get a new router (Apple makes great ones), otherwise, I'm really not sure. Sorry I can't help, but maybe with a little more Googling, you'll find a solution. (You also might have already fixed it because this comment is kind of old now)
